Pinched Nerve

A pain in your neck or back that does not go away on its own, then it could mean that you have a “pinched nerve”.

A pinched nerve is a nerve that is under pressure and often comes from surrounding bone or tissues. A pinched nerve is often the result of a type of degenerative spine that can cause pain and numerous other issues.

Pinched nerves commonly occur within the spine, but can happen anywhere. The spinal column and spinal cord and the nerves within control muscle movements and sensations. The nerve tissue is very vulnerable to being pinched within the spinal column.

  • Pain in the neck, shoulder, biceps, forearms, hands, and fingers.
  • Pain can be felt in the upper or middle back and radiate through the stomach or chest
  • Pain may be felt in thelower back, buttocks, hips, legs and feet.

If you believe that you have a pinched nerve the first step is to consult with your doctor and confirm the diagnosis. Your doctor will ask when the pain began and what symptoms you are feeling. An x-ray may be ordered, and treatment plan with be created that could include physical therapy, chiropractic care, medicines.
